A couple remained jailed Tuesday, charged in the burglary last week of a fast-food restaurant where they had once worked.

Michelle Brackley, 30, and boyfriend Steven Queen, 31, were each booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony burglary and gross misdemeanor conspiracy to commit burglary. Queen was additionally booked on an unrelated domestic battery warrant.

According to the arrest report, employees of Wendy's on South Carson Street noticed Friday morning that the back door to the business had been broken into and hundreds of dollars were missing from the safe.

"Oddly enough the safe where the nearly $2,000 cash was stolen from had been opened and then shut by a person knowing the safe's combination," the deputy wrote in the report.

The owner suspected Brackley and Queen, who had recently been fired, the report states.

When the couple arrived at the business to pick up their finals checks, the police were called.

While police were transporting Queen to jail, he allegedly said he was "not going down alone" and he wanted to "tell the cops everything about the burglary."

He later allegedly confessed that he burglarized the business, gambled some of the money and spent some on a video game console.

Queen allegedly said Brackley, a former manager, wrote the combination for him and helped him plan the burglary.

Brackley allegedly admitted planning the burglary and gambling about $800 of the money.

Brackley's bail was set at $27,500. Queen is being held on $30,500.
