Donald Silks, a medium security inmate, escaped from the California Correctional Center which is located just outside of Susanville, Calif.

It is believed Silks may have family living in the Carson City area.

Silks, 66, is described as a white male, 140 pounds, with brown eyes, gray hair and fair complexion. He stands at approximately 5'9 inches tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, blue chambray shirt and an orange tanker Jacket with the initials C.D.C.R. on the back.

He was committed to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on Dec. 30, 2008, from Sonoma County, Calif., for possession of a firearm by an ex-felon. He was scheduled to be paroled in June 2013.

Silks was last seen at approximately 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Escape apprehension efforts are continuing. Anyone seeing him should contact 9-1-1 or law enforcement authorities immediately.
