Citing circumstances beyond her control, Spc. Thomas Lyons' mother Jeanna Flint said Sunday that the time of services for her son's funeral Tuesday have been changed.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 155 Highway 95 Alternate in Fernley. Military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way, Fernley.
The new times are three hours later than previously reported.
Lyons, 20, died Sept. 8 in northern Iraq when the truck he was riding in hit an explosively formed projectile. Also killed were Staff Sgt. Shannon M. Smith, 31, of Marion, Ohio; and Pfc. Zachary Myers, 21, of Delaware, Ohio.
