Raymond Ralph "Ray" Hamner, 87, passed away on September 10, 2009, at Banner Churchill Community Hospital in Fallon, Nev.

Ray was born on July 6, 1922, in Idaho to Ralph and Winnie Bow Hamner and had lived in Fallon since 1995, coming from Oregon.

Ray was a retired truck driver and rancher.

He was preceded in death in 2008 by his wife, June.

He is survived by his grandson, Kelly and wife Lori and great-grandchildren Brandon, Austin and Michael Chadwick, all of Fallon; sister, Opal Corbett and niece Viola of Carson City; sister-in-law Mary Beth Skelcher of California and many other nieces, nephews and cousins; and his friend and puppy, Buddy.

A visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 at Smith Family Funeral Home, 505 Rio Vista Dr., in Fallon. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Churchill County Cemetery in Fallon.
