The Carson Water Subconservancy District will host the "Get On The Bus - Carson River Watershed Tour."

This lively and informative tour, from Carson City to Hope Valley, Calif., will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 10.

Featured speakers will discuss topics such as the history of the Carson River, historic mining impacts, water quality and quantity challenges, floodplain and open space protection, river restoration, fish and wildlife, plus much more.

The tour will include the historic Dangburg Ranch, Hope Valley and the East Fork of the Carson River.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend and participate.

This is an opportunity to share ideas and add a voice to public discussion. A tour of the middle and lower watershed was held in the spring and was so well received that it will be repeated spring 2010.

To register or obtain additional information, contact the Carson Water Subconservancy District at 887-7450.

The cost to register (which includes lunch and snacks) is $45.

Space is limited, registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
