Douglas police seek man who rammed patrol car today

A man who rammed a police vehicle after being stopped in a drug investigation is being sought by authorities in South Lake Tahoe and Douglas County.

South Lake Tahoe resident Jamaal Mansoor Eslami, 27, was described last wearing a white T-shirt after the incident in which he allegedly struck an unmarked police car with his green Cadillac Deville at about 11:40 a.m.

Eslami was the subject of a narcotics investigation and was stopped by members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Street Enforcement Team at about 11:40 a.m. when he decided to make his escape.

An officer inside the car was unhurt in the incident. Eslami drove through Stateline's crowded streets and into South Lake Tahoe, Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jim Halsey said.

The green Cadillac limo Eslami was driving was found abandoned near the Royal Bahama Motel, near Stateline Beach, in South Lake Tahoe.

Authorities are seeking help from the public in finding Eslami.

He is described as 27 years old, approximately 6 foot, 4 inches tall, 210 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.

He is wanted for trafficking in methamphetamine, sales of a methamphetamine, assault on a peace officer, and felony reckless driving.

Anyone with information about Eslami's whereabouts is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Investigation Division at 782-9905 or call in to Secret Witness at 78-CRIME.
