Readers invited to contribute old photos for book

The Nevada Appeal and Nevada State Museum are partnering to create an heirloom book featuring photos from the city's past, "Remember When: Celebrating the History of Carson City 1858-1940."

Residents are invited to share old pictures from 1858 through 1940 taken in the Carson City area. They can be family photos, school portraits, street scenes, events and any other moments of life captured on film.

Anyone wishing to share a photo can bring it in during a scanning session from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today at the Nevada State Museum, 600 N. Carson St.

All photos will be returned unharmed.
