Earn While You Learn is a program under the Community Pregnancy Center in Carson City. The program is designed to foster responsibility, and nurture relationships with young parents who come to the pregnancy center.
Instructors provide lessons for young moms and dads on fetal development and all stages of pregnancy, labor and childbirth. Lessons also cover parenting, adoption and practical financial instruction on buying a car and renting an apartment.
While attending classes, parents earn Baby Bucks that enable them to buy items new parents need.
Churches in Carson City have been challenged to help provide items for the Community Pregnancy Center for use in the Earn While You Learn store. Cribs, changing tables, blankets, baby wipes, clothing and diapers are especially needed.
One Carson City church donated a crib and changing table after two weeks of challenging church members to give to this need.
