LAS VEGAS (AP) - Republican John Guedry has backed out of his intent to run for the Nevada congressional seat held by Democrat Rep. Dina Titus.

Guedry cited family reasons for the decision.

In a written statement, he said recent events have compelled him to focus his attention on important issues closer to home.

Guedry was an executive with City National Bank. He resigned from his job before launching his campaign for Congress this summer.
