David "Jason" Woellner

David "Jason" Woellner, 38, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009, at his residence in Carson City surrounded by friends and family.

Jason was born October 27, 1970, in Lake Worth, Texas, to Edwin and Brooke Woellner. Jason's family came to Genoa, Nev., in 1972. He grew up in Genoa and moved to Carson City in 1996.

Jason's passion was his pleasure in cooking. He was a very talented chef and worked as the sous chef at the Station Grill for 14 years.

Jason was preceded in death by his father, Edwin and his maternal grandparents, Frankie and Louis Schaffer and his paternal grandmother, Beryl Rainey.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Deena, and his daughter, Katie Lynn Woellner; mother, Brooke Woellner of Genoa; and brother John Woellner of Austin, Texas. Also his paternal grandfather, Brig. Gen. Edwin D. Woellner and his grandmother, Susan Woellner of Phoenix, Ariz., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
