Model T fans to meet Thursday evening

The Silver State Model T Ford Club will meet at

7 p.m. Thursday at Jones-West Ford, 3600 Kietzke Lane, Reno. Anyone owning or interested in Model T Ford cars and trucks is cordially invited to attend the monthly meetings.

Senior center seeks vehicle donations

The Carson City Senior Center has a new vehicle donation program to help raise funds for senior programs. The donation is tax deductible.

Donated vehicles do not have to be operational. Vehicles within a 30-mile radius of Carson City will be picked up free of charge. Call Dawn Beck at 883-0703 to leave information, and within a few days, a pickup appointment will be made.

Democratic women

to host fashion show

Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Saturday for the annual Carson City Democratic Women's Club Fashion Luncheon at Silver Oaks Country Club.

State and local political personalties will model fashions from JC Penney's. A donation of $25 is requested, which may be given at the door.

First flea market of summer on Saturday

The Carson Indian Colony, located at 2900 S. Curry St., will hold it's first flea market of the summer on Saturday with regular markets to be scheduled through, at least, August.

Booth spaces are open to anyone interested in selling arts, crafts, clothing, tools, antiques, collectibles or items from over-stuffed garages. Booth spaces are $25.

All booth space rental proceeds go to repair of the Carson Colony gymnasium and the Carson Colony kids recreation program.

Spiritual discussion on Saturday

Western Nevadans are invited to discuss spiritual wake-up calls at a worship service in Carson City. "Our Spiritual Wake-Up Calls" is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Carson City Community Center, Roop and Williams streets. The free session is sponsored by Eckankar, Religion of the Light and Sound of God.

During this one-hour worship service, a skilled facilitator will give a brief talk, followed by readings, a small-group discussion and a short contemplation.

GOP Women Satellite Group to meet

The Carson City Republican Women Satellite Group meets from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. every third Thursday. Location this month is Charley's Grilled Subs at the Carson Mall.

This Thursday, Assemblyman District 38 Republican candidates Gary Gladwill and Tom Grady are speaking.
