Nevada Republicans and Democrats are keeping pace with new voter registrations.

Figures released Monday by the secretary of state's office show Democrats added 2,172 voters in July, while Republicans added 2,025.

Democrats hold a nearly 58,000 registration advantage over Republicans statewide.

But records show Republicans have regained a slim lead in Washoe County that was taken by Democrats just before the 2008 presidential election.

The secretary of state's office also says voters registered in July with minor political parties or as nonpartisans at more than double the rate of Republicans or Democrats.

The number of people registered as nonpartisan grew by 1,737 to 165,553.
