Bethlehem Lutheran Church will present Pastor-elect Christopher Michael Amen during a special service at 5 p.m., Sunday in the church sanctuary.

At that time, he will be both ordained and installed. Pastors from around the district will be a part of this service.

A reception will follow in Luther Hall across the parking lot from the church, which is located at 1837 Mountain St., Carson City.

Pastor-elect Amen was raised in Plano, Texas, and graduated from Concordia University of Wisconsin. He spent his summers working with young people in Lutheran camps in Wisconsin and Illinois. He met his wife, Rebecca, at Camp Luther.

Amen continued his seminary studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind., and graduated in May.

The Amens were married in 2008 and now have a 6-month-old son, Zachary.
