Obituary: Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Eggleston Fillo

Mary Elizabeth (Libby) Eggleston Fillo passed away Aug. 26, 2010, in Carson City at the age of 94. She was born Oct. 31, 1915, in Kingman, Kan. She graduated in 1935 from William Woods College, in Fulton, Mo., and studied one semester at Emporia, Kan. She received her RN degree from Research Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., in 1939. Libby served as a nurse in the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. She married Paul V. Fillo on Feb. 28, 1942. Libby is survived by her husband, Paul, and three sons Paul E. of Roseville, Calif., Stephen D. of Sierra City, Calif., and Frank D. of Broadlands, Va. She is blessed with 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, life member of the Eastern Star chapter in Kingman, Kan. Libby enjoyed quiltmaking and was a member of the quilt club in Carson City.
