Three jailed on suspicion of heroin possession

Three people were jailed Friday night after an informant told police the trio was allegedly returning from Reno with heroin for sale.

Derick James Holland, 22, a salesman from Carson City, was arrested at 9:21 p.m. on suspicion of felony possession of heroin, violation of controlled substance act, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of suspended sentence. Carlo Ariel Michael, 19, a temporary worker from Carson City, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of heroin, possession of heroin for sale, violation of controlled substance act, misdemeanor possession of hypodermic needle, violation of suspended sentence and possession of drug paraphernalia. Amy Nicole Olson, 28, unemployed of Silver Springs, was arrested on suspicion of felony violation of controlled substance act, possession of heroin, gross misdemeanor possession of prescription drugs without a prescription, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to appear on a traffic warrant and a felony warrant for failure to attend drug court.

According to the arrest report, a police source informed the Special Enforcement Team that Carlo Michael was returning to Carson City with heroin he'd purchased in Reno.

When deputies stopped Michael's vehicle in the 3700 block of North Carson Street, he allegedly had four hypodermic needles on him, one loaded with heroin and ready for injection, and approximately 30 balloons of heroin in his pants pocket. Olson allegedly had 16 balloons of heroin and seven methadone pills on her, and Holland allegedly had four balloons of heroin.

Bail for each is in excess of $10,000.
