Secret Witness tips led to the arrest of a transient in connection with three robberies at Carson City gas stations, according to police.

Kenneth Dale Jones, 22, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of two counts of felony burglary in relation to the last two cases. Charges are pending in the first robbery.

According to the arrest report, three Secret Witness tips came in alleging that Jones was the crowbar robber who had hit the Jackson's gas station at Highway 50 East and Rand Avenue twice and the Jackson's gas station at Saliman Road and Highway 50 East once between Jan. 24 and last Friday. The robber made off with cash and cartons of cigarettes.

On Saturday night a deputy walking through the Carson City Nugget found Jones at the casino cage. When questioned, he allegedly admitted to the robberies, the report states.

"Kenny also told me he was planning on burglarizing another store tonight and had prepared a bag of disguises," Detective Daniel Gonzales wrote in the arrest report.

Jones remains in custody on $25,000 bail.
