Susan Pintar appointed as new Carson City health officer

Carson City Health and Human Services announces the appointment of a new county health officer, Dr. Susan Pintar. Pintar, board certified in pediatrics, has been in private practice since 1985. She replaces Dr. John Bower. Pintar served as director at Eagle Valley Children's Home for ten years.

As health officer, Pintar acts as chairperson of the county board of health which comprises the supervisors, the sheriff and the health officer. This part-time position includes includes overseeing the sanitary conditions of the county as well as adopting regulations to prevent, suppress, and control any contagious or infectious disease dangerous to public health.
