Ballroom dance classes cover cha-cha to waltz and more

The first of two ballroom dance classes for beginning adults and teens will start up April 5 and run for 12 weeks. Class time is 7-8:30 p.m. at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Dr.

Larry Ward, who has 55 years experience as a professional dancer and dance instructor, will teach the cha-cha, waltz, Texas two step and east coast swing, in the first course that runs through June.

The second 12-week course begins 7:30-9 p.m. July 12 and covers the tango, salsa, fox trot, rumba and nightclub two-step.

A second round of the first course also begins July 12 with class times at 6-7:30.

Cost is $8 per course for adults and $6 for teens. Sign-ups will be taken until the second class of each course. Coffee and cookies will be served.
