LAS VEGAS - Jury deliberations resume for a second day in the civil trial of drug companies accused of providing the anesthetic used by Las Vegas endoscopy clinics at the heart of a hepatitis C outbreak.

The Clark County District Court jury returns to work Monday after deliberating Friday following more than two weeks of testimony in a lawsuit by Las Vegas residents 61-year-old Henry Chanin (CHAN'-in) and his wife, Lorraine.

Henry Chanin contracted hepatitis C during an outpatient procedure at the Desert Shadow Endoscopy Center in 2006.

His lawyer, Robert Eglet, accuses drug company Teva Parenteral Medicines and distributor Baxter Healthcare of encouraging reuse of the anesthetic propofol by providing the clinic with large vials of the drug.
