Three high school students arrested for possession of marijuana

Three Douglas High School students were arrested Wednesday after deputies located 4 ounces of marijuana in cars parked near Douglas High School.

Gregory Hicks, 18 and two 17-year-old males were taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance for sales near school grounds.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a tip that there was drug activity occurring on Pinewood Drive.

Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer John Meyer and Street Enforcement Team Investigator Brian Johnson responded with narcotic K-9 "Mack" to sniff vehicles parked in the area.

The investigation resulted Hicks' arrest for possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sales. The two 17 year-old males were arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales and possession of paraphernalia respectively.

A total of 111.8 grams or about 4 ounces of marijuana in various packaging was recovered from the vehicles during the investigation.

The juvenile subjects were subsequently transported to the Douglas County Juvenile Probation Office and turned over to probation officers.

Hicks was transported to the Douglas County jail where he was booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sales. His bail is set at $5,000.
