City to host job fair on April 18

The Carson City Health and Human Services Workforce Program will host a job fair from 2-5 p.m. April 18.

The event will take place inside the Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive.

The program provides guidance and works to reduce barriers that are preventing people from obtaining employment. A workforce case manager will ask the job-seeker to complete a brief intake to provide information such as job history and education.

Downtown Coin hosting coin show on May 14-15

Downtown Coin will host its second coin show May 14-15.

Raffle tickets are now on sale at Downtown Coin, 111 W. Telegraph St. The drawing will be at 3 p.m. on April 15. They are six for $5 or 12 for $10. Prizes include an uncirculated $5 gold liberty and a 10-ounce silver bar.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Carson Senior Center, and the Nevada State Museum.

NNDA to host technology,

health care meetings

The Northern Nevada Development Authority will host a health care committee meeting at 11:30 a.m. April 22 and a technology action committee meeting at 11:30 a.m. April 8.

The meetings take place at the NNDA office, 704 W. Nye Lane, Suite 201. Attendees for the health care meeting should bring their own lunch, drinks will be provided. Lunch will be provided at the technology meeting.

New labor representative

for AFSCME in Nevada

Priscilla Moloney has been named the new labor representative for the AFSCME Local 4041 in Carson City.

She received her law degree in 1983 from Southwestern University in Los Angeles. She moved with her family to Nevada in 2006 after a career in Oregon primarily as a public defender.

In the last few years, Moloney has worked for the Nevada Attorney for Injured Workers as their legal researcher and public assistance information provider.
