Parks 4 Paws, a nonprofit community group working on establishing designated dog parks in Carson City, is selling raffle tickets for the quilt "Man's Best Friend."

The quilt was designed, crafted and custom quilted by Ilona Strull of Carson City.

Funds raised by the raffle will go toward Parks 4 Paws' effort to pay for fencing and other expenses to create Carson City's first designated dog park.

Raffle tickets are $3 each or five for $12.

The winning ticket will be drawn at the May 7 Bark, Whine & Dine event in the Fuji Park building. It will be hosted by Carson City Mayor Bob Crowell. The winner need not be present to win.

Tickets can be purchased by calling Strull at 775-721-4931 or at V&T Pet Clinic, 2230 S. Carson St.; Purple Avocado, 904 N. Curry St.; and Lone Mountain Veterinary Hospital, 780 E. College Parkway.
