Marcell Dittenber, 83, passed away April 3, 2011, in Carson City. Marcell was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Sedalia, Ken., to Ollie and Mary James.
She moved to Carson City in 1990 from Perris, Calif. She volunteered at Carson-Tahoe Hospital for more than 15 years. Marcell especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dittenber (2002) and a son, Russ Dittenber (1991).
She is survived by son Karl and his wife, Janice, of Standish, Calif.; brothers Harold and David James, and sister Anita O'Mealey; six grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Jeff, Jamie, Mike, Jason and Travis Dittenber; and two great-grandchildren, Shelby and Sophie Jones.
There will be a visitation 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Walton's in Carson City. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Lone Mountain cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of final arrangements.
