There is a report, unofficial and unconfirmed, that a force of 2,700 soldiers enroute to maneuvers in Ft. Lewis, Washington will camp near Carson Saturday evening.

50 YEARS AGO

Old 27 will soon be moved to the old Virginia and Truckee Roundhouse. The train, which used to furnish transportation between Reno and Carson City has been acquired by the Carson City Chamber of Commerce, which has since given the engine, baggage car and caboose to the Nevada State Park Commission.

20 YEARS AGO

The BLM is bringing history to Carson City this fall. An exhibit of the Great Basin will show in September in the old Assembly chambers at the Capitol.

Planners have rejected a new hotel-casino in Minden.
