WASHINGTON (AP) - Nevada Sen. Dean Heller gave the Republican response to President Obama's weekly radio address on Saturday, saying the president's "big-government" approach to economic recovery has failed his state and the country

miserably.

Obama used his address to call on Americans to rekindle the spirit of unity that characterized the response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He said that's the kind of harmony that is needed to tackle the nation's economic challenges.

Heller countered by calling for a balanced

budget amendment to the Constitution and repeal of the health care law that Obama signed last year.

He also quoted a Nevada business leader who he says summed it up best by saying that Obama and his policies "have been a big wet blanket on the economy."
