130 YEARS AGO

Governor Kinkead goes East tonight with the remains of his brother, James Kinkead to be buried in St. Louis, Mo. After the burial, the governor will travel to New York and then Washington. In the duration of his absence the State will be governed by circumstance.

100 YEARS AGO

Scribes to organize. Arrangements have been made where the newspapermen of Nevada will organize on the 15th of this month in Reno. The idea is to perfect a state organization and set rules as to what is free advertising and settle ideas on state printing plants.

70 YEARS AGO

Carson Rotarians will use large trucks to haul 200 Christmas trees which will be offered for sale by Boy Scout Troop 33. Twenty-five scouts will accompany the Rotarians to Dog Valley to cut the trees. They will be stored at the orphan's home until stands are made and sorting done.

50 YEARS AGO

The largest crowd in Carson City for a commercial event, some 4,000 persons, arrived at the Carson Nugget Friday night to witness the $12,000 deer drawing. Pictured is part of the overflow on the sidewalk in front of the Nugget.

20 YEARS AGO

The V&T trolley question is scheduled to roll before Carson Supervisors again. The trolley was proposed by the Rotary Foundation more than three years ago as a means to revitalize downtown. It was envisioned to run the two miles from the museum to the state railroad museum.
