Students as Carson High School are busy with senior projects and research papers for classes in all grades. Library resources, combined with Homework Help and BrainFuse, add quality, free material for any assignment.
Book sale
Fresh from resounding successes with the previous book sales (almost $7,200) and the beneficiaries of at least 10 carts of newly donated books (including 100 Louis L'Amour novels that could hopefully be sold as a set), puzzles and books on tape, the Friends of the Library are holding another event, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday in the library auditorium. Members are able to attend a preview sale 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday.

Activities from Feb. 6-19
The Teen Book Club and the Teen Advisory Board will meet 3-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18. Many of the current board members are seniors this year, so Youth Services Librarian Amber Sady is actively recruiting new teens who would like to become more involved with library activities and programs. The book club will be reading "Secret of the Sirens" by Julia Golding. This lyrical fantasy concerns the Society for the Preservation of Mythical Creatures and casts 12-year-old Connie as the heroine.
The Lego Club, which averages around 40 participants, meets from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 18 in the library auditorium. Due to limited space, signing in at the Youth Desk is advised.
The Love on a Leash program will be available1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb.19 in the Children's Room. Benefits children derive from this program include improvement in reading skills, a renewed excitement about reading, joy from being around dogs and a non-judgmental partner in the literary experience. Between 30 and 50 people participate each time, and lots of therapy dogs are available to listen.
