In conjunction with Feed the Children, the Salvation Army's distribution of food packages to 400 families today at the south end of the Carson Mall may cause traffic delays in the area.

The handouts will begin at 3 p.m. The Salvation Army has pre-identified 400 families to receive the assistance. If you do not have a voucher, you are not able to receive a package.

The distribution is part of Feed The Children's Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 220,000 families across the country since it began in 2009.

Because of the high number of recipients, commuters could encounter traffic delays in the area of South Stewart Street and Stewart at Carson streets. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route.
