The Carson City Children's Museum is teaming up with local science teachers in March to present "hands-on science" projects. Every Saturday in March, from 10-11a.m. children will work with local teachers to grow crystals, dissect frogs, build bridges, or dissect owl pellets. These projects are best suited for children in the third-grade or older. Since our supplies are limited, we ask that interested families call to reserve their spot. There is no additional charge for these projects, just normal admission or membership.
For our younger visitors, Books and Brags continues 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday.
Pre-school and kindergarten children get to hear an exciting story and then make a craft related to the story ... again, this is all included in the normal price of admission.
Teens and adults can learn ballroom dance, square dancing, or create pottery using a potter's wheel. Pottery painting also is available for beginners and a special class for those who want to learn more advanced painting techniques.
On March 17, the museum will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with special art projects, and on the evening of March 19, the Cinderella Pageant will once again be held at the Museum. The Children's Museum will welcome spring on March 23 with special arts and craft projects.
