DALLAS (AP) - Dwight Howard had 23 points and 13 rebounds, and the Orlando Magic extended the NBA's longest active winning streak to nine games with a 117-107 victory over the injury-depleted Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night.

Jason Richardson scored 20 points and Jameer Nelson had 16 for Orlando, which rallied from a 16-point, first-half deficit.

Hedo Turkoglu contributed 13 points and 17 assists, and Gilbert Arenas had 14 points for the Magic.

DeShawn Stevenson scored a season-high 24 points for the Mavericks, who were without top scorer Dirk Nowitzki for his career-high seventh straight game with a sprained right knee.

Bulls 90, Celtics 79

CHICAGO (AP) - Derrick Rose scored 36 points, Carlos Boozer added 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Chicago cooled off Boston.

Rose set career highs for free throws made and attempted with a 15-for-19 performance from the line, driving by Rajon Rondo over and over again before usually drawing contact from one or more of Boston's big men. Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal each finished the game with five fouls and Shaquille O'Neal had four.

Paul Pierce had 21 points and Ray Allen added 19 for Boston, which had won four straight and five of seven. The Celtics also dropped to 5-2 since star forward Kevin Garnett went out with a right calf injury.

Thunder 109, Grizzlies 100

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Kevin Durant scored 40 points, Russell Westbrook added 22 points and 11 assists, and Oklahoma City avenged a loss at Memphis earlier this week.

Durant eclipsed 40 points for the second time in two weeks, hitting a pair of free throws and then a jumper from the left elbow after Memphis had pulled within two in the final 2 minutes.

The Thunder then put it away from the foul line, ending Memphis' bid to win four straight games for only the second time this season.

Zach Randolph had 27 points and 16 rebounds - including nine on the offensive end - and Rudy Gay scored 20 for the Grizzlies. Memphis beat Oklahoma City 110-105 on Tuesday night in Tennessee.

Jazz 103, Rockets 99, OT

HOUSTON (AP) - Paul Millsap scored 12 of his 27 points in overtime and Utah rallied from another double-digit deficit in a victory over slumping Houston.

Al Jefferson had 24 points and 13 rebounds and C.J. Miles added 16 points for the Jazz, who have come back to win 12 times this season after trailing by at least 10 points. Deron Williams went 5 for 16 from the field but dished out 15 assists.

Luis Scola had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Martin scored 20 for the Rockets, who have lost five in a row.

Utah trailed by as many as 16 points but held Houston to 13 field goals after halftime to close the gap.

Pistons 112, 76ers 109, OT

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Austin Daye made a tying 3-pointer with 3.5 seconds left in regulation and Detroit went on to beat Philadelphia in overtime.

Detroit trailed by three when Philadelphia's Lou Williams missed two free throws with 6.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. After a timeout, Daye caught Tracy McGrady's inbounds pass in the corner and made the tying shot from long range.

The 76ers nearly rallied from a seven-point deficit in the final 20 seconds of overtime, pulling within one on 3-pointers by Evan Turner and Jodie Meeks. After Rodney Stuckey made two free throws for Detroit with 6.6 seconds left, Meeks tried a wild, off-balance shot with two defenders on him that bounced off the rim.

Bobcats 104, Wizards 89

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Stephen Jackson scored 21 points, D.J. Augustin added 20 and Gerald Henderson had a career-best night as Charlotte kept Washington winless on the road.

The often-forgotten Henderson had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Bobcats, who pulled away early in the fourth quarter to improve to 4-2 under interim coach Paul Silas and spoil John Wall's first game in his home state since high school.

The No. 1 pick in the draft had 16 points and 11 assists while playing in front of dozens of family and friends. Kirk Hinrich scored 18 points for the Wizards, who remained the NBA's lone winless team on the road at 0-18.

Hawks 108, Pacers 93

ATLANTA (AP) - Josh Smith scored 14 of his 27 points in the fourth quarter, Joe Johnson added 24 points and Atlanta beat Indiana.

The Hawks have won four straight and eight of 10. Indiana, which never led, has dropped three in a row and six of seven.

Danny Granger scored 16 for the Pacers, who seemed to lose focus after coach Jim O'Brien's technical foul with 7:15 left in the third quarter.

Bucks 115, Nets 92

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Chris Douglas-Roberts celebrated his birthday by scoring 24 points against his former teammates to lead Milwaukee over New Jersey.

Ersan Ilyasova added a season-high 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Earl Boykins had 17 points as the Bucks snapped a three-game losing streak and beat the Nets for the sixth straight time.

Milwaukee, the NBA's worst shooting team at 41.3 percent from the field, shot a season-best 58.3 percent in scoring a season high in points despite having center Andrew Bogut sidelined with a viral infection.

Kris Humphries scored a season-high 22 points and Jordan Farmar, who started with Devin Harris out with a bruised leg, had 20 points and 10 rebounds.
