Carson couple to celebrate 40th anniversary

Allan and Jerri Biddle will celebrate their 40th anniversary Monday.

The couple were married Jan. 31, 1971, in Forest Lawn at Wee Kirk 'O the Heather, Glendale, Calif., the same chapel where Allan's parents had been married.

The couple met at a junior college championship football game in Bakersfield, Calif., when a friend asked Allan for a ride with his girlfriend back to Orange County. When he balked at the idea of chauffering the two, his friend added some incentive that "would change my life," Allan Biddle explained.

"He said, 'my girlfriend knows most of the girls on the (Fullerton College Flag) squad, are there any you like?'... With that question, I looked down on the girls on the field and said the blond is pretty cute."

That "cute blond" was Jerri Hoffmaster.

"I met the girl who would become my wife, my true soul mate."

Allan and Jerri Biddle have two sons, Erik and Scott, a daughter, Jolee, and four grandchildren, all living in Carson City area.

To celebrate their anniversary, the couple plan to get away for a few days.
