Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• John Thomas Aston, 67, a truck driver from Reno, was arrested at 9:36 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony possession of a sawed-off shotgun, gross misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon, misdemeanor fictitious vehicle registration, failure to use a turn signal, failure to wear a seat belt and unlawful carrying of a rifle. He was stopped on a traffic violation and allegedly had a loaded revolver and a knife under a trench coat. A loaded shotgun was found in a duffle bag within reach of the driver, the report states. Bail was set at $15,000.

• Megan Kendall, 26, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. Friday in the 2400 block of Ravenshorn Drive on suspicion of felony probation violation and failure to appear in drug court in Lyon County. No bail was set.

• A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 8:51 p.m. Saturday in the 4100 block of Pheasant Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct, resisting arrest with violence and threats. Bail was set at $1,369.

• Robert Michael Hernandez, 24, unemployed of Carson City, was arrested at 12:34 p.m. Sunday at Truckee and Sweetwater drives on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing a peace officer, trespassing, destruction of property and possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $1,633.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Sunday:

• A purse was stolen from a vehicle after a window was broken out with a brick on South Carson Meadows Street at 12:07 a.m.

• An injured deer was shot and killed by a deputy on Thompson Street at San Marcus Drive at 8:58 a.m.

• Coroner call in the 3000 block of North Ormsby Boulevard at 12:47 p.m.

• Report of a bicyclist lying next to his bike at Roop and William streets at 2:54 p.m.


Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Sunday:

• Felony arrest on Cedar Street in Fernley at 8:03 a.m.

• Report of two plastic bags with "white stuff" in them found on Highway 50 East in Dayton at 11:12 a.m.

• Misdemeanor arrest on Navajo Drive in Stagecoach at 1:30 p.m.

• Felony arrest on Miriam Way in Mound House at 1:48 p.m.
