Kinderland Nursery School in Carson City celebrated the Fourth of July with a birthday party for America.

Children dressed as historical figures who helped form the nation, and explained their character's contribution to history.

Nate Amrhein played George Washington, first president of the United States.

John Michael List played Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States who signed the Emancipation Proclamation ending slavery.

Karla Coffman played Betsy Ross, who is credited for making the first American flag.

Ashleigh Deskin portrayed the Statue of Liberty.

Amelia Wickstead played Clara Barton, founder of the American Red Cross.

Madison Howk played Sacagawea, guide and translator for explorers Lewis and Clark.
