RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada starting wide receiver Brandon Wimberly has been released from the hospital after being shot and seriously wounded during a fight in Reno last month.

The 22-year-old Wimberly is recovering at home in Gardena, Calif., after being released from the hospital last week.

Wimberly, who would have been a junior this fall, was shot following a June 18 fight between several Wolf Pack football players and another group. Police are still searching for a suspect.

He underwent surgery to repair his intestines and colon, and it remains unclear whether he will be able to play football again.

He was second on the team in receptions last season, with 41 catches for 482 yards. Nevada finished with a 13-1 season and the No. 11 ranking last season.
