Highway 88 reopened after fatal wreck this morning

MINDEN - Highway 88 between Mottsville and Centerville lanes has reopened after being closed for more than two hours while a fatal accident is investigated.

The identity of the victim in the accident has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a red Humvee driven Dona K. Tholl, 51 of Gardnerville, was westbound on Centerville from the stop sign.

Trooper Dan Lopez said the preliminary investigation showed Tholl failed to yield striking the red and white Honda motorcycle. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The traffic was diverted while emergency crews investigated the accident. Once the next-of-kin have been notified, we will release the name of the deceased driver.

The Major Accident Investigation Team of the Nevada Highway Patrol-Northern Command is continuing to investigate this accident. Witnesses or anyone with additional information are encouraged to call Trooper Eric Gallagher at (775) 689-4661 regarding case No. NHP-1107130909.
