The Carson City Planning Commission will consider Wednesday granting a three-year extension for Granite Construction to start operations of their concrete batch plant to be located at 5855 Sheep Dr. A previous two-year extension was granted in July 2009.

Commissioners will also take possible action to:

• Recommend to the board of supervisors an application for the abandonment of public right-of-way from Tri-State Surveying for property located adjacent to 1712 Karin Drive to the west, 1946 Hamilton Ave. to the north, and an unaddressed parcel to the east. The roadway path was blocked when the adjacent property to the north was developed as a house. The area has not been improved as a street.

• Approve a special use permit request from Al Salzano to allow a multi-family apartment on property zoned residential office at 812 N. Division St. The project would consist of two two-story, four-plex buildings in a bungalow/craftsman style.

The Carson City Planning Commission meets at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St. Go to http://www.carson.org to download an agenda and a complete information packet.
