SILVER DOLLAR: To the Carson Colony youths who've been holding car washes and spaghetti feeds to raise money for neighbor Eleanor Muscott, whose house was destroyed by fire last weekend.

WOODEN NICKEL: To whoever stole the flower basket from outside Molly's Gourmet Catering and the Brewery Arts Center - one of the merchant-sponsored baskets intended to beautify the town's streets and sidewalks.

SILVER DOLLAR: To Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy Robert Holbrook, whose heads-up police work yielded an arrest in a 30-year-old California murder case. Undersheriff Paul Howell lauded Holbrook's "good, basic police work" in checking the IDs of two men he had stopped to help alongside the road. When one of them, Bernhard Hahm, popped up as wanted in connection with a 1982 homicide, Holbrook took him into custody.

SILVER DOLLAR: To Sen. Dean Heller for his proposal to withhold congressional pay until the House and Senate pass a budget.
