Dini selected as Yerington mayor

Yerington voters selected George R. Dini as their new mayor on Tuesday. Dini, a former city council member who was term limited, received 56 percent of the vote to easily defeat Steven Grandinetti (20 percent), Frank Pizzo (16 percent) and Jeffrey "Buddy" Rogers (7 percent).

The mayor seat is a four-year term.

For City Council, Richard Faber and Jeff E. Lucier were elected to serve four year terms. Faber, who has served on the council for the last six years was reelected with 29 percent of the vote. Lucier received 20 percent, edging out Tony Reyes (18 percent) and current mayor Douglas Homestead (17 percent). Jim Bagley received 15 percent of the vote.
