Lodi scores late, tops Bullets

The Lodi Glory scored once in the seventh and once in the eighth innings to pick up a league victory over the Nevada Bullets on Sunday in Lodi, Calif.

Darin Wiltgen started for the Bullets working the first four innings allowing nine hits, three earned runs. He was relieved by former Carson standout David Charles who worked 2.2 innings. He gave up two hits, two walks while striking out one. The defense behind Charles committed three errors leading to two unearned runs.

Derric Williford worked 1.2 innings giving up two hits and two earned runs.

In the first inning, Zach Hendricks singled and scored on CJ Maldanodo's single. In the second inning,

Chris Woolley was 1-for-5 with a run scored. Woolley singled in the second inning, then stole second. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and then stole home when the Lodi pitcher tried to pick Brooks Klein, who was hit by the pitch, off of first. Klein finished the day 2-for-3 with a run scored.

The Bullets would be held scoreless until the seventh when Colby Blueberg singled and scored on a hit by Klein.

Nevada returns to action against the Neptune Pearl in Alameda, Calif., on Wednesday.
