Observatory: For the second time the Jim A. Grant Observatory, owned by Mrs. Marion G. Bowen of Carson City has been broken into. The Jim A. Grant Observatory is one of the highlights of Carson City and has been visited by scores of people from all parts of the United States, including many eminent astronomers.

Horseman Club: The second year of activities for the 4-H horsemanship got under way at the home of Janet Wilde. Officers of the group include Kathy Graham, president; Elaine Newton, vice president; Dianne Gilbert, treasurer; Jacquie Sneddon, secretary; Cheryl Musgrave, reporter; Skippy Thurman and Sue Merkelback, song leaders.
