SENATOR SQUARE: Proficiency exams this week for all sophomores

This week's senior spotlight is on Natalie Stevens. She has a weighted grade-point average of 4.31. Her classes include advanced-placement calculus, honors physics, advanced-placement government, health occupations and advanced-placement English senior literature.

Natalie has been accepted to Cal Poly. Her extracurricular activities include volunteering in the community.

She is a member of Health Occupations Students of America and National Honor Society.

She has been on both the varsity soccer and basketball teams. This year she was named defensive player of the year for soccer and second team for basketball. We are proud of Natalie.

The Partnership Carson City Steering Committee will be offering a Drug Update Community Forum.

You will be provided with the most recent information on drugs in the community and answer questions. The meeting will be at Seeliger Elementary School at 5:30 p.m. March 16.

The Musical Theater classes have a performance at the Community Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Admission is $2.

There will be performances by each of the classes, as well as various

dance and vocal solo and ensemble performances.

This is a big testing week at Carson High. All sophomores will take the reading, math and science Nevada High School Proficiency Exams.

Juniors and seniors who still need to pass a subject will also be tested. Late-start days are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for those students not testing.

The Senior Auction will be 6 p.m. Monday. Come and see seniors auctioned off at this fantastic event!

Seniors are selling off their fantastic talents for the community to enjoy. From a full-course meal to babysitting whenever you please, you will be sure to find a senior who will complete the task for you. Bids start at $25 each, and all the money that is raised will go toward prom.
