Lin leads Bighorns over Flash

OREM, Utah- Jeremy Lin - assigned to Reno earlier this week from the Golden State Warriors - scored a game-high 27 points Friday night, lifting the Bighorns to a 107-103 victory over the Utah Flash in the UCCU Events Center.

Lin's big night off the bench pushed Reno to its 28th win of the 2010-11 campaign, matching a franchise high for victories in the regular season.

The Bighorns and Flash will hook-up again on tonight in the 10th and final meeting between the two teams in the regular season. Tip-time is set for 6 p.m.


Sabol has brain tumor

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (AP) - NFL Films president Steve Sabol will undergo radiation and chemotherapy treatment after doctors discovered a tumor on the left side of his brain.

NFL.com cites an NFL Films statement Friday about the 68-year-old Sabol, who was hospitalized March 5 in Kansas City, Mo., after suffering a seizure.

"(Sabol) will begin treatments soon," the company's statement said. "Steve is in good spirits and is deeply appreciative of everyone's good wishes."

Sabol has worked with NFL Films since 1964. His father, Ed, was elected on the day before the Super Bowl last month to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.


Federer, Djokovic advance to semis

at Indian Wells

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. (AP) - Roger Federer defeated Stanislas Wawrinka 6-3, 6-4 to advance to the BNP Paribas Open semfinals on Friday, setting up a showdown with Novak Djokovic for the world's No. 2 ranking.

Federer is currently second behind Rafael Nadal in the ATP rankings, and Djokovic is third. Djokovic beat Richard Gasquet 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 16-0 this year and put himself in position to surpass Federer in the rankings.

Federer is 18-2 this year, with one tournament win in Doha. Djokovic won titles at the Australia Open and Dubai, where he beat Federer in the final. His last loss came against Federer in the semifinals of the ATP World Tour finals in London in November.
