Officials to hear details of Sept. 13 special election

Carson City Clerk Recorder Alan Glover will fill in the board of supervisors Thursday about the dates and times of early voting for the Sept. 13 special election. He will also ask that they approve compensation for election board worker and early voting workers.

The special election to fill Dean Heller's congressional seat was set by Gov. Brian Sandoval after he appointed Heller to the U.S. Senate seat vacated when John Ensign resigned.

In other matters Thursday, the board of supervisors is expected to take action on the following items:

• A proclamation for National Public Works Week of May 15-21.

• The Parks and Recreation Commission's goals for 2011.

• Financing of water and sewer projects.

• The operating covenant and agreement between Carson City Redevelopment Authority and Carson City and Tamlin Investments for Carson Quail Park.

• The operating covenant and agreement between Carson City Redevelopment Authority and Carson City and The Carrington Company for the Carson Mall.

• The operating covenant and agreement between Carson City Redevelopment Authority and Carson City and James Duke Inc. for the former K-Mart building.

• The operating covenant and agreement between Carson City Redevelopment Authority and Carson City and South Carson LLC for Carson Tahoe Quail Park.

• A revised strategy map for the 2011-12 Carson City Strategic Plan.

• A presentation that updates the progress and plans of the Carson City Storm Water Management Program.
