The Douglas County Sheriff's investigators are working to identify the body of a person that was found Saturday afternoon near the Carson River in northern Carson Valley.

The body was discovered on property managed by the Incline Village General Improvement District, not far from the county line. Sheriff's deputies received the report around 1 p.m.

The body has been removed from the area and deputies cleared the scene by 3:30 p.m.

Douglas County Sheriff's Capt. Joe Duffy said that once the body has been identified, next of kin will be notified.

The property is fenced off and posted with warning and no trespassing signs.
