A Carson City woman wanted for allegedly throwing rocks at store workers in a bid to help her boyfriend escape a shoplifting arrest was jailed Tuesday.

Brenda Jeanne Sweet, 34, was booked into the Carson City Jail at 3:37 p.m. on a warrant for suspicion of misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor assault.

According to the police report, Sweet was allegedly involved in an incident May 12 in which her boyfriend Aaron Memro, 37, was attempting to steal shoes from JC Penney's.

When Memro and a security officer began to struggle outside, Sweet allegedly "began throwing rocks and boulders," at the officer, the report states.

When a female assistant manager "bear hugged" Sweet in an attempt to stop the rock assault, Sweet allegedly clawed at the woman before managing to break free and drive away, the report states.

Upon Memro's arrest, officers determined Sweet to be the fleeing female. The manager was shown a previous mugshot of Sweet and positively identified her as the woman who fled.

A warrant was issued for Sweet's arrest and an anonymous caller informed officers of her location Tuesday afternoon. Sweet was picked up at a home on Bel Aire Way.

Her bail was set at $2,500.
