The Storey County Sheriff's Office is looking for Reno resident Jose Luis Vargas, 36, in connection with a Friday night stabbing in Virginia City.

About 9:30 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at C and Taylor streets. The victim, a 35-year-old Hispanic male, was transported to an area hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound, said Sheriff Gerald Antinoro.

Investigators believe the incident was the result of a dispute over a female known to both men.

Vargas is described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in Virginia City wearing dark clothing and a red ball cap.

Anyone with information as to Vargas' whereabouts is asked to call the Storey County Sheriff's Office at 775-847-0959, or their local law enforcement agency.
