MINDEN - The Douglas girls' soccer team expanded upon a 1-0 halftime lead to cruise against Spanish Springs in the first round of the Northern 4A Regional playoffs Monday afternoon, winning 4-0.

The win vaulted Douglas into the regional semifinals Wednesday night against Manogue (1-0 victors over Reed in the first round), the only team to defeat the Tigers this season.

Douglas goal keeper Bri Randall posted her 31st career shutout, breaking the school and state records previously held by Ashley Sulprizio.

Freshman Lexi Von Schottenstein got the Tigers on the board first with her team-leading 19th goal of the year.

Tia Lyons later added her 17th goal of the year and Holly Downer had a pair of goals to lead the Tigers to the win.

Douglas improved to 21-1 on the year.
