Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent unless proved guilty in court:

• Joseph Rodgers, 21, was arrested at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Hot Springs Road on suspicion of gross misdemeanor abuse and neglect. He allegedly admitted to striking a child on the legs and across the face.

• A 49-year-old self-employed Carson City man was arrested 11:38 a.m. Tuesday at the corner of Sherman Lane and Airport Road on suspicion of driving with expired plates, no proof of insurance and contempt of court, all misdemeanors. Bail was set $1,229.

• A 23-year-old Carson City daycare worker was arrested at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Musser Street for an oustanding warrant for issuance of a check with insufficient funds in Churchill County. Bail was set at $622.

• A 45-year-old unemployed Carson City woman was arrestedd 12:50 p.m. Monday on suspicion of petty larceny and two outstanding warrants. She reportedly shoplifted $139.47 worth of merchandise. Bail was set at $3,250.
