Carson City JobConnect's weeklong JobQuest campaign received listings for 521 jobs in a variety of industries - well above the goal set by the Department of Employment, Trianing and Rehabilitation.

DETR Director Frank Woodbeck said the idea behind the campaign was to get more employers to list openings with the state's one-stop employment centers. He said the jobs are in a variety of industries including banking, warehousing and manufacturing, retail and hospitality.

JobConnect associates contacted more than 1,200 businesses during the week of Oct. 31 in Carson City, Douglas and Lyon counties.

Gov. Brian Sandoval thanked the JobConnect team and the employers who participated.

"I applaud these employers for their willingness to do their part in helping Nevadans find gainful employment," he said.

JobConnect offers employers services including screening potential workers, on-site interviewing and assistance with placement and training. Employers who participate can also receive financial incentives from the governor's Silver State Works program for hiring unemployed Nevadans.
