Offense: Scoring on 7 of 10 possessions is impressive, and it's easy to see what a difference Dylan Sawyers makes. He didn't play in the game earlier this season against Damonte Ranch, and Carson struggled at times. He played this time, and Carson had a 31-0 halftime lead. Chance Quilling shined on offense as did Matt Nolan and Brock Pradere. Carson was opportunistic, and that will be a key. Teams that convert mistakes into scores usually have success, especially in the post-season. Grade: A
Defense: The Senators played a very solid first half, recovering three fumbles which led to a couple of scores. Damonte converted just two of six third-down opportunities in the first 24 minutes. Linebacker Logan Peternell seemed to be around the ball all the time. Carson didn't play quite as well in the final 24 minutes, but the outcome was already decided. That may have been the problem. Intensity and emotions are musts for a full 48 minutes. B-
Special teams: This was probably the most ineffective game of the season for the Senators. Only two extra points were converted. The snaps need work, and that was the main reason that Carson converted only two chances all night. Grade D-
